This Privacy Policy explains how Newtons Tech LLC ("Newtons Tech," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit chronicleapp.io (the "Site"). Chronicle is a product of Newtons Tech LLC. The iOS application itself, when released, will have a separate privacy policy disclosed in the App Store.

Information We Collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. Specifically:

Launch notification signups. If you submit your email address to be notified when Chronicle launches, we store that email solely to send you the launch announcement. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not share or sell it.

Server logs. Our web server records standard access logs, including IP address, user agent, and timestamp for every request. These logs are used exclusively for security monitoring, diagnostics, and mitigating abuse. We do not attempt to link IP addresses to individual identities. Logs are automatically rotated and deleted on a rolling basis.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising networks.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how visitors use chronicleapp.io. Umami collects anonymous usage data such as page views, referrers, browser type, device type, and approximate country of origin. Umami does not use cookies, does not track individuals across websites, and does not collect personal information. The data is aggregated and used solely to improve the site.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Send the Chronicle launch announcement, if you signed up for it
• Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
• Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security issues
• Comply with legal obligations
• In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change via a prominent notice on the Site.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use it for automated decision-making.

Third Parties and Subprocessors

The following service providers process data on our behalf:

• Linode (Akamai): Hosts the Site and its server infrastructure. Privacy Policy
• Cloudflare: Provides DNS resolution and may process request metadata. Privacy Policy
• Resend: Delivers transactional email, including the Chronicle launch announcement. Privacy Policy
• Umami: Provides privacy-respecting analytics, self-hosted on our own infrastructure.

Each of these providers is bound by its own privacy policy and applicable data protection agreements.

Data Retention

We retain launch notification emails until Chronicle launches and the announcement has been sent, after which they are deleted unless you have created an account with the product. Server logs are rotated and deleted on a rolling 30-day basis.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• Access a copy of the information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Object to certain processing activities

Cookies

The Site does not set non-essential cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

California Privacy Rights

We do not track users over time or across third-party websites, and therefore do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

International Visitors

If you are visiting from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using the Site or submitting a launch notification, you consent to this transfer.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted prominently.
